Holbein White Matt Varnish - Holbein White Matt Varnish
Capacity: 55ml
Ingredients: Beeswax, processed silica beads, petroleum solvent
Uses:
Creates a “matte” protective coating for finished oil paintings (6-9 months).
Creates a matte surface protection layer, protecting the painting from dirt, impurities and UV rays...
Characteristic:
Rough surface, non-reflective, helps keep color in original state, no yellowing.
Can be removed with turpentine and white spirit.
Can be mixed with clear coat to soften the gloss of the protective coat.
Details: A translucent coating made by dissolving beeswax in petroleum and adding specially processed silica. Varnish creates a durable coating. Varnish should only be applied after the work has dried completely (about 6 to 12 months after completion), and should be avoided on rainy or humid days as the coating may become opaque.
EN: Used for matting a picture already painted. This allows you to view the painting from many different angles much like a watercolor painting since they don't reflect light. Many paintings can be enhanced by mating back to dull service. If mixed appropriately with tableau, it can also create a semi-gloss surface. It can be wiped off with petrol and repainted later.
